Not Everything is Done in Japan

In terms of where the cars are actually made, the answer is - it depends. Honda has several assembly plants distributed around the world, each producing anywhere from only one to five different styles of automobiles. Depending on where in the world you live, and what type of vehicle you are wondering about, the actual geographical origin will vary. Below is a list of their manufacturing and assembly plants with details about what type of vehicles are made there. It is safe to assume that if you live closer to China than the U.S., the assembly plant closest to (or in) China that manufactures any given model is the one where that car came from.

Many people incorrectly assume that Japanese cars are manufactured in Japan. The truth is, the world is a much different place today than it was in the late '40's when Honda first started. Globalization has made it possible for multinational corporations to distribute their production facilities around the world for maximum efficiency. For example, even though the companies' world headquarters are in Japan, American Honda Motor Co. is based in Torrance, California. Honda has also created joint ventures around the world to facilitate operations in places such as China and India.

The next car on our list is the Honda NSX, perhaps the most well known car ever produced by Honda among auto enthusiasts. The NSX was also sold under the Acura brand name in North America and Hong Kong. The NSX was produced from 1990 to 2005. The NSX competed with other sports cars from Ferrari, Porsche, and Lamborghini. The cars stunningly good looks were thanks to the fact that Honda commissioned the Italian car designer Pininfarina to design the concept car that the NSX was originally based off of. Pininfarina is most well known for designing cars for Ferrari.

the largest automakers

The first car we have included is the Honda Prelude which was produced from the years 1978 to 2001. The Honda Prelude was a 2-door coupe. There were five different generations of the Prelude produced and the last generation was produced from 1997 to 2001. The car was very popular among sports enthusiasts and a lot of people tuned the Prelude even further to increase horsepower and overall performance. The Prelude SiR S-Spec model had the most horsepower at 220, but Honda only sold this particular model in Japan. This was actually a lot of power in the time the car was produced making it very competitive when compared with other sports car models. Honda eventually discontinued production due to weakening sales numbers as the Prelude was competing with other strong models being produced by Honda at the time.

They are known today for producing some of the most reliable and fuel efficient cars in the world available at very reasonable prices.
